Most realistic trade deadline targets for the Chicago Bulls: Paul Millsap

There are some trade deadline targets that likely wouldn’t cost the Bulls all that much. And knowing the fact that the Bulls’ front office could very realistically take the approach of just making minor adjustments and/or additions to the rotation at the trade deadline, potential targets such as the Brooklyn Nets veteran power forward Paul Millsap make a lot of sense.

It looked like it was very likely for the four-time All-Star and 36-year-old Millsap to land with the Bulls out of free agency late last offseason. But he would eventually sign with the Eastern Conference foe Nets. That was a decision, though, that didn’t wind up going too well for Millsap or the Nets.

Throughout much of the season so far, Millsap just appeared to be rather absent in terms of the impact he’s made on the Nets. He’s only played in two-dozen games for the Nets through more than half of the regular season slate. And the last time that Millsap even got minutes off the bench for the Nets was back on Jan. 13.

A change of scenery definitely looks to be necessary for Millsap. Since he’s not bringing much of any value for the Nets on a deal that expires this coming offseason, it shouldn’t be all that difficult to get Millsap from Brooklyn either.

Getting another veteran voice in the locker room and adding help in the frontcourt unit are both tasks that the Bulls could accomplish by nabbing Millsap at the deadline. It only helps that he apparently likes the idea of landing in Chicago this season.
