4 former DeMar DeRozan teammates the Bulls should trade for
Former DeMar DeRozan teammates the Chicago Bulls could trade for: Delon Wright
DeRozan and the Atlanta Hawks reserve guard Delon Wright played together for a few seasons in the mid-to-late 2010s with the Raptors. The former Utah Ute and first-round draft pick of the Raptors in 2015 Wright actually spent the first three and a half seasons of his NBA career playing with DeRozan in Toronto.
There was a lot of growth that Wright put on display in the first few seasons of his NBA with the Raptors too. He went from occupying a third unit role deep down the Raptors bench in the mid-2010s to becoming a core piece of the second unit by the late 2010s.
In the last few seasons, though, Wright became a true NBA journeyman. He’s played for five teams in the last three seasons including the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, and Sacramento Kings. But he’s spent the entirety of the 2021-22 regular season thus far with the Hawks.
Wright could be a similar case as Bertans as it relates to how the Bulls could buy low on him at the trade deadline. The good news with Wright is the fact that his contract is much more manageable for the Bulls to take on than that of Bertans’.
The Hawks are likely going to be looking to shift their roster at the trade deadline. It’s hard to know exactly what that will entail as they look to build around star point guard Trae Young. But I would imagine that it wouldn’t be all that difficult for the Bulls to be able to get Wright from the Hawks if they can provide at least a decent offer to Atlanta.
