Among the players that you could say really fell off this season around the NBA is also one that was a subject of various Bulls rumors last offseason. The Bulls looked to be in the running to sign the former Atlanta Hawks and Denver Nuggets four-time All-Star power forward Paul Millsap out of free agency last offseason before he eventually picked to join the Brooklyn Nets.

Yet, it looks like there will now be another shot for the Bulls to get Millsap rostered in Chicago as the trade deadline approaches next month. The Nets are likely going to make Millsap very available at the trade deadline come Feb. 10 given his lack of a role of late with the team.

That was largely confirmed roughly 10 days ago as a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic/Stadium on Twitter shows that the Nets could be shopping Millsap next week. Shams had previously reported that the Nets had “agreed” to essentially find a new home for Millsap so that he can “have a greater contribution” in potential winning efforts down the stretch this season.

Bulls rumors once again connecting Chicago to four-time All-Star PF Paul Millsap

Since that tweet from Shams, you can add five more games to the list where Millsap didn’t get any playing time with head coach Steve Nash and the Nets. This is just looking even more likely that Millsap will be dealt by the Nets at the deadline.

If the Nets don’t help Millsap find another landing spot at the deadline, then he should be a candidate to hit the buyout market before too long.

Nonetheless, the Bulls are likely going to be one of the potential landing spots mentioned for the Bulls as the deadline approaches next week. Second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls might give Millsap a shot at a much-needed change of scenery.

It would also help to have the veteran voice in the locker room down the stretch this season that Millsap can bring to the table. There still isn’t a whole lot of postseason experience on this roster. And adding a veteran like Millsap could help get more experience when it comes to postseason time in Chicago.

Millsap is definitely having one of the most forgettable seasons of his now 15-year-long NBA career. This is also definitely an emerging name to watch that could fly under the radar for the Bulls ahead of the trade deadline on Feb. 10.
