Backup centers to target stemming from Bulls rumors ahead of the deadline: Marvin Bagley
There is a world where Karnisovas and the Bulls could take a different approach to their trade deadline strategy and attempt to add someone with some future upside. If the Bulls wanted to knock out two birds with one stone in terms of adding future upside and getting a backup center, then a good potential trade target could be the Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley.
It does look like the Kings are planning on shopping quite a few of their key players at the trade deadline this year. Bagley is one of those names to watch that also includes the likes of fellow big man Richaun Holmes, shooting guard Buddy Hield, and forward Harrison Barnes, among a few others.
Bagley, though, would be the name to watch for the Bulls if they wanted to add a backup center that could have some untapped potential left in the tank at the trade deadline this year. Holmes could be a candidate to watch for the Bulls too if the front office wanted to add a really solid backup center. Yet, the asking price looks to be a little high to add Holmes at the moment.
For the Bulls to get a deal done with the Kings to land Bagley, why not also try and address a looming need at the four?
This hypothetical trade deal sees the Bulls ship off a lot of key players for a return of Barnes, Bagley, and even a lottery-protected future first-round draft pick from the Indiana Pacers. The three-team deal also sees the Pacers receive TBJ and P-Will from the Bulls along with young shooting guard Terence Davis from the Kings. And then, the Kings get point guard Coby White, DJJ, and shooting guard Caris LeVert from the Pacers.
