Studs for the Chicago Bulls from the commanding win over the Blazers: DeMar DeRozan

Although this wasn’t the usual high-scoring performance for the now five-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA forward DeMar DeRozan, he still had a very solid outing all things considered. And that’s not to say that DeRozan wasn’t still solid in terms of his scoring output for the Bulls in this win over the Blazers either.

DeRozan still finished up this game with 23 points on a solid 9-of-13 shooting from the field, 1-of-1 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. He was nearly spotless shooting from anywhere in this game.

And DeRozan also gave the Bulls four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, no blocks, and just one turnover. As was the case with LaVine, the impact that DeRozan had for the Bulls on the defensive end of the floor in this game was actually very solid. Those two steals were nearly good to tie a season-high for DeRozan.

You also have to give credit to DeMar for his on and off-ball defense in this game. He wasn’t perfect, but this was still one of the better defensive games we’ll see out of him this season.

DeRozan’s 10 assists tied a season-high in this game. He was doing a little bit of everything for the Bulls against the Blazers. With the way he’s playing in the last few games, DeRozan is making it clear that he was more than deserving of getting this All-Star Game starting nod. And he’s still making a solid case to be an MVP contender this season.
