3 former Bulls to consider trading for at the deadline
Former Chicago Bulls players to go after at the deadline: Justin Holiday
Of the three former Bulls players on this list, the one that likely makes the most sense for the front office to actually go after at the trade deadline next month is the Indiana Pacers two-way sharpshooting small forward Justin Holiday. As a name that looks to be available at the trade deadline, I would expect Holiday to be the type of player that is actually on the Bulls’ radar on Feb. 10.
The version of Holiday that the Pacers got in the last three seasons is much different than the one that the Bulls had for bits and pieces of two seasons from 2017-2019. Holiday has turned into one of the better three-and-D wings in the Central Division, and he could come at a value price for the Bulls at the deadline.
Holiday is a solid and aware on and off-ball defender. And he is a legitimate floor spacer that could help add some punch to the Bulls’ offense. In the last three seasons with the Pacers, he’s shooting the three-ball at a clip around 39 percent. He’s also averaged around one steal and one block per game with a 0.5 defensive box plus/minus in that span of time with the Pacers.
Not only would Holiday give the Bulls more versatile wing/forward depth in the rotation coming at a value price, but he is also familiar with the Central Division. It wasn’t all that long ago that he played for the Bulls. And he’s spent the last three seasons playing in the Central Division with the Pacers.
