Former Chicago Bulls players to go after at the deadline: Robin Lopez

While this is probably the most unlikely name on the list for the Bulls to go after at the trade deadline, veteran big man Robin Lopez would certainly be available if the front office wanted to pursue him. Lopez is performing at a pretty solid level for the Orlando Magic this season, in what is his 13th year in the NBA.

RoLo was certainly one of the most popular Bulls players of the late 2010s. While the team was often struggling to find much of any success in the win column under former head coaches Fred Hoiberg and Jim Boylen, RoLo was actually pretty productive. That was especially true post-All-Star break in his final season with the Bulls (during the 2018-19 campaign).

He averaged around 14 points per game, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks, in the final two-dozen games of the 2018-19 regular season with the Bulls.

If Donovan and the Bulls feel like they can bring back that type of production from RoLo down the stretch this season, it would be worth seeing if they could get him from the Magic.

The point of bringing in RoLo would be for the Bulls to have an actual big man that can work in the paint on both ends of the floor come playoff time. That is outside of what star center Nikola Vucevic does for the Bulls.

Backup center Tony Bradley is a solid rim protector and rebounder. But his offensive game is much more limited than that of RoLo. The Bulls would be digging deep in this regard, but there is a world where adding RoLo makes sense in terms of what he can do for this team in the postseason.
