Chicago Bulls players that could be All-Star starters this year: Zach LaVine

While there’s no guarantee that LaVine will be a starter in the All-Star Game this year, he should definitely be a candidate in the running to get this honor. Given how LaVine has essentially maintained the same level of production and efficiency this season while playing next to more established stars, he definitely deserves consideration to be a starter.

Moreover, LaVine is also producing at a star-caliber level while playing for a potential title contender for the first time in his career.

LaVine did participate in the All-Star Game last season as the lone representative from the Bulls. But he wasn’t an All-Star starter last year, which made sense given the fact that the Bulls weren’t really getting the league-wide respect as a true postseason contender.

That narrative has definitely changed through the first half of this season. The Bulls are currently just 0.5 games behind the Miami Heat for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

There will likely be at least a couple of All-Stars named starters that don’t have numbers that match that of LaVine. He’s averaging around 25 points per game, five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and 0.5 blocks while shooting 49 percent from the field, 41 percent from beyond the arc, and 87 percent from the free-throw line.

Averaging nearly 25/5/5 while almost joining the 50/40/90 club is enough of an argument for LaVine to be an All-Star starter. The fact that he’s finally doing that with a team that is one of the top in the East so far this season is just an added bonus in his case.
