Chicago Bulls trades with the Raptors for Pascal Siakam: Mortgage the future

This is really the only deal I could think up between the Bulls and Raptors to get Siakam to Chicago without giving up Vucevic. The problem for the Bulls is the fact that this mortgages much of the rest of the future draft and player assets that the franchise has in store.

In this hypothetical trade deal, the Bulls give up four players and a future unprotected first-round draft pick to the Raptors for the return of Siakam, Yuta Watanabe, and Svi Mykhailiuk. Watanabe and Mykhailiuk are included in this hypothetical trade deal between the Bulls and Raptors just to ensure that the roster numbers and salaries work out in the end.

This trade still sees the Bulls cut it really close in terms of salary on the books for the next few years. They would have to figure something out in this regard or move up further in the luxury tax.

It is also worth considering how large of a risk the Bulls would be taking by dishing out the likes of point guard Coby White, shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr., Williams, DJJ, and a future unprotected first-round draft pick. Williams and Coby are two of the brighter young players on this roster.

And if the Bulls decide to give up Coby without really getting any quality guards in return, that will thin out the backcourt unit even further. That is a notable risk for the Bulls to consider that would be relevant down the stretch this season.

All in all, this would be a true trade that the front office could make to put the Bulls in win-now mode. Anything short of a title would be considered a disappointment in the next few years if the Bulls pulled off a trade like this at the deadline.
