Chicago Bulls studs from pivotal win over the Cavs: Ayo Dosunmu

The MVP for the Bulls in the midst of this major wave of injuries for the team is the former Illinois Fighting Illini star and rookie point guard Ayo Dosunmu. Playing some of his best basketball of the season so far for the Bulls, Dosunmu is showing that he could be deserving of All-Rookie Team honors when it’s all said and done for this campaign.

No player is hotter right now than Dosunmu. And he continued his hot streak in this win over the Cavs. While it did take until the second half for Dosunmu to really heat up against the Cavs, he did take off at the right time.

Dosunmu also got another start for the Bulls with Caruso still working his way back from injury and the league’s health and safety protocols and point guard Lonzo Ball out. He also got 39 minutes on the floor in this game.

He came up with 18 points on an insanely efficient 7-of-8 from the field, 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Dosunmu just isn’t missing from the field of late. He’s now shot better than 80 percent from the field and 70 percent from beyond the arc in the last three games.

Moreover, Dosunmu also gave the Bulls three rebounds, eight assists, two steals, no blocks, and just one turnover. So, it wasn’t just shooting numbers where Dosunmu made a major impact for the Bulls in this game. He’s doing it on both ends of the floor and carrying the team through this tough wave of injuries.
