Young Chicago Bulls players standing out of late: Malcolm Hill

The next Bulls player up on this list does come with somewhat of an asterisk given the fact that the former Atlanta Hawks and Illinois Fighting Illini rookie wing Malcolm Hill has only played in one game for this team at this point. Hill made his debut for the Bulls in a bigger role than originally anticipated in the close loss to the Celtics on Jan. 15.

In fact, the last two games that Hill played in this season were pretty solid showings. His debut for the Bulls saw him score just five points off the bench with one rebound, one assist, no steals, no blocks, and no turnovers. And he shot just 1-of-5 from the field, 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line in that loss to the Celtics.

But what Hill did do for the Bulls was something that this team gets from a player like shooting guard/forward Javonte Green or point guard Alex Caruso. Hill consistently played tough on-ball defense and drew some offensive fouls that took some guts to take.

Hill was a major source of energy for the Bulls late in that meeting with the Celtics on Jan. 15 too. He gave Donovan and the Bulls more than 18 solid minutes off the bench when it was just a couple of days ago that he was signed to a 10-day contract thanks to other injury issues for this squad.

There could be some valuable contributions that Hill gives the Bulls during his stint on this 10-day deal. In his last game with the Hawks when they signed him to a 10-day contract last month, Hill came up with 13 points, three rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block.
