What would maybe be the most high-risk and high-reward free agent signing that the Bulls could make this signing would come from a player that a Central Divison foe just let go. The four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA big man DeMarcus Cousins was just let go by the Milwaukee Bucks last week after a decent run with them in the midst of some COVID-19-related issues.

During his 17 game run with the Bucks this season, Cousins averaged around 19 points per 36 minutes, a dozen rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. He was pretty productive and helped to boost the Bucks’ frontcourt when they were running short on depth. Cousins could do something a little bit different with the Bulls, but still make an immediate impact for this frontcourt group.

Knowing some of the struggles that the Bulls faced in terms of offensive production out of the frontcourt lately, it does seem like signing a potent big man on that end of the floor such as Cousins makes sense. But you always have the risk of what Cousins could do with locker room chemistry if you look back on his days with the Sacramento Kings.

I honestly think that risk runs thinner lately and is a stigma that stuck around with him for way too long now. Cousins has contributed in spots when called upon with four different teams in the last four seasons. And all of that came after he had to work his way back from an Achilles injury he suffered a couple of seasons ago.
