Just ahead of a key matchup for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls against the Golden State Warriors, one more player was added to the roster on a 10-day contract. The Bulls added the former Atlanta Hawks and Illinois Fighting Illini shooting guard/small forward Malcolm Hill on a 10-day contract on Jan. 14.

This is now roughly a half-dozen players that the Bulls have signed down to a 10-day contract at any point in time since the beginning of last month. The Bulls had a plethora of COVID-19-related issues that struck the team lately.

Three of the most notable injury absences for the Bulls right now include point guard Alex Caruso, shooting guard/forward Javonte Green, and forward Derrick Jones Jr. DJJ is the latest addition to the injury report after he hurt his knee early on in what amount to an embarrassing loss at home to the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 12.

What other free agents are out there for the Chicago Bulls that make more sense than Malcolm Hill?

Given the losses of late for the Bulls at wing/forward, the addition of Hill to the rotation makes sense given the position he plays at. The Bulls are also down second-year forward Patrick Williams, which makes the loss of DJJ that much worse.

It does seem like the Bulls might need a bigger injection of energy and someone that can make more of an immediate impact than Hill, though. There are some other free agents out there that could’ve made a bigger impact in all likelihood for the Bulls than Hill.

Granted, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with this signing.

Here’s a look into three players the Bulls could’ve signed out of free agency instead of Hill.
