3 Bulls players most likely to be traded at the deadline this season
Most likely Chicago Bulls players to be traded at the deadline: Derrick Jones Jr.
The first spot up on this list could’ve gone to a multitude of different Bulls players. Knowing that the Bulls don’t have all that many obvious trade chips to work with at the deadline this season, someone like forward Derrick Jones Jr. could find himself on the move if it’s for the right return.
A few other names worth mentioning that the Bulls would likely be willing to part ways with if it makes sense are sharpshooting guard Matt Thomas, center Tony Bradley, and second-year forward Patrick Williams.
Yet, it seems like the other potential trade chips for the Bulls either wouldn’t do enough to help in salary matching for most realistic trade targets or just are too important to the future of this team. That could also be the case with another Bulls player up on this list.
Trading Jones is not something that I would personally be in favor of. He’s one of the most versatile and athletic two-way players on this roster. His presence is extremely valuable for the Bulls, especially when Donovan runs small-ball lineups often in-game.
The fact of the matter here is that, for the Bulls to give up Jones, it would take a pretty good return. Or, it would have to be the final piece of a giant trade package that helps the Bulls really take a step to get closer to a title this season.
Jones is in the last year of his current contract too, which makes his deal one of the most tradeable of any on the books right now.
