Outlandish trade targets the Chicago Bulls should avoid in 2022: Buddy Hield

While there are two big names worth watching on the Sacramento Kings that I think could make a lot of sense for the Bulls this season, the former Oklahoma Sooners standout shooting guard Buddy Hield is not one of them. Hield could be moved without too much hesitation from the Kings for the right return. It just doesn’t seem too likely that he lands with a team currently built like the Bulls are.

Hield would need to land with a team that needs a proven floor-spacer that could handle his contract and usage requirements. He likes to command more touches on the offensive end, which is why he’s run into some trouble in Sacramento.

Granted, the average annual value of around $20 million for the remainder of the three years of Hield’s contract doesn’t look all that bad anymore. At one point, it looked like Hield was going to ask for max-level money. And given the fact that he’s played nowhere near a max-caliber contract in the last few years, it makes sense that the Kings held off.

Hield could be an appealing trade target for a number of teams that need help spacing the floor. The Bulls are definitely not one of the teams that makes sense for Hield, though.

It is really important to discuss the topic of potential Bulls trade targets from Sacramento if the front office is busy around the trade deadline. The Kings have a duo of big man Marvin Bagley and forward Harrison Barnes that could both make sense for the Bulls. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to me if either one landed in the Windy City, depending on the level of activity from this front office at the deadline.
