Outlandish trade targets the Chicago Bulls should avoid in 2022: Ben Simmons

How long will it be until the Philadelphia 76ers star point guard Ben Simmons play a game for his team this season?

That is the question that so many basketball fans (particularly those of the Sixers) have asked throughout much of the season.

One thing is for sure, though, the Bulls should not be thinking about pulling off a trade with the Sixers for Simmons. I do think that is obvious at this point, but it is worth noting on a list like this. The Bulls really should avoid trading for a player like Simmons at all costs, no matter how much star power he could bring to the table for this team.

At this point, it feels like Simmons would be a much better fit with a team that is young and building up right now compared to an already established playoff contender. There were some schools of thought that Simmons could land with a team like the Golden State Warriors, but that is a moot point by now.

Knowing the potential trade chips that the Bulls are working with in the couple of months ahead of the trade deadline, a target like Simmons is definitely unrealistic and one the front office shouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole. The Bulls are working with trade chips such as third-year point guard Coby White, shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr., and potentially second-year forward Patrick Williams (only if the return is right).

There are still a couple intriguing landing spots for Simmons that come to mind for me. A few of those are the Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Houston Rockets.
