3 Bulls players shining with Chris Fleming as head coach
Chicago Bulls players standing out with Chris Fleming as the interim: Nikola Vucevic
A Bulls player that got off to a pretty disappointing start this season but has really picked up his play of late is the two-time All-Star center Nikola Vucevic. The veteran former Orlando Magic big man really seems to be finding his game of late. And that all started just before Donovan entered the health and safety protocol.
It felt like only a matter of time before Vucevic found his game this season. But in finding a completely new role with a big three that is unlike any he ever played with before as a member of the Magic meant massive change day-to-day for Vucevic.
In the last few games, Vucevic is putting up some pretty insane numbers. In the three games with Fleming serving as the interim head coach, Vucevic is averaging around 19 points per game, a whopping 17 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals. That really is an insane stat line, and Vucevic’s impact is being felt on both ends of the floor as a result.
Vucevic really has completely turned his game around completely in the last five games for the Bulls. This is without a doubt his best five-game stretch of the season. And the result for the Bulls is a five-game winning streak.
The pace that Vucevic is on of late could still have him challenging for an All-Star nod this season. With the way he’s producing of late, the Bulls are going to be an extremely difficult team to beat. The increased movement around him and finding his shooting stroke in the last few games have really helped him find his groove on a consistent basis.
