Trade targets on the Chicago Bulls Christmas wish list: Jerami Grant

What is likely to be the most appealing potential trade target on this Christmas wish list this season for the Bulls is the star Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant. The Pistons are in a spot where they are essentially completely rebuilding around a core of rookie point guard Cade Cunningham and second-year wing Saddiq Bey, among a few others.

At this point, it seems pretty clear that the Pistons’ front office is more than willing to shop Grant ahead of the deadline this season. While that doesn’t mean that the Pistons are willing to let go of Grant without a hefty asking price, it does mean that the Bulls should take the idea of pulling off a trade like this seriously as the deadline approaches.

Grant might be the trade target that fits the bill in terms of a combination of the best fit with the Bulls and the player that could move the needle the most right away. He was very close to garnering his first career All-Star selection last season. And he looks to be challenging for those honors again out of the gates this season.

If the Bulls could find a way to pull off a trade deal with the Pistons to get Grant to Chicago, it would give this team four legitimate All-Star caliber players. Imagine a starting unit that features the likes of point guard Lonzo Ball, LaVine, DeRozan, Grant, and Vucevic. This would still have the Bulls with the likes of point guard Alex Caruso filling the sixth man role.
