More free agents the Chicago Bulls could sign in the wake of COVID-19 issues: Harry Giles

I will continue to believe that the former elite five-star recruit and Duke Blue Devils often-injured star center Harry Giles can find a permanent landing spot in the NBA if one team finally gives him an actual shot to succeed. The problem is that Giles hasn’t received a shot with either of the west coast teams he signed with in the last few seasons to make an actual impact.

If nothing else, I do believe that there is some team out there that is going to be more than willing to sign Giles to at least a 10-day contract among this league-wide breakout of COVID-19 cases of late. Giles is just too talented and potent not to at least give some consideration to right now with all of these roster spots that are needing to be filled in the blink of an eye.

And if the Bulls continue to have some issues with the health and safety protocols themselves, watch out for Giles to get some consideration to come to the Windy City. The Bulls are short on frontcourt depth right now, and Giles could add some punch especially given his offensive versatility.

One aspect of Giles’ game that really sticks out from his brief stint with the Clippers last season is the fact that he actually started to expand his offensive game. He took more than 0.5 three-point attempts per game for the first time in his career.

And Giles was actually hitting those three-point attempts at a clip of around 35 percent last season. If that becomes a regularity for Giles to have a three-point game, I have no idea why there’s not a single team out there that wouldn’t want to sign him.
