Players not named Myles Turner the Chicago Bulls could trade for: Bryn Forbes

One of the major problems that the Bulls would face in trying to pull off a trade with the division foe Pacers to nab the former Texas Longhorns star Turner is how much it would cost them on the cap sheet and in a return to get this deal done. The Pacers are likely asking a lot for Turner, and it would cost the Bulls a significant amount of their future asset to get this done.

If the Bulls want to upgrade their roster to elevate their contender status immediately in the East this season, one potential trade target to look at is the San Antonio Spurs sharpshooting guard Bryn Forbes. As one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA in the last couple of seasons, Forbes could help with some of the inconsistencies the Bulls have faced in spacing the floor.

Forbes is a player that started out his NBA career playing for the Spurs for four years. And then, he signed a one-year contract with the Bucks last season where he nabbed his first career NBA title. Following his run with the Bucks to get his first ring, the Spurs signed Forbes to another one-year deal during the offseason that was.

But it doesn’t look like the Spurs are getting the most out of Forbes this season. Considering the fact that Forbes isn’t getting as much playing time under head coach Gregg Popovich with the Spurs this season, and he’s on a very movable one-year deal, this is a very appealing potential trade target for contenders like the Bulls ahead of the deadline.

Forbes is still one of the premier floor spacers in the NBA, shooting the three-ball at a clip of 42.5 percent this season. But that is coming while he’s only getting around 14 minutes on the floor per night.
