More free agents the Chicago Bulls could sign for next week: Quinn Cook
Here’s your weekly edition of why the Bulls should sign the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers sharpshooting guard Quinn Cook. Even once the Bulls start to work their way back to full strength later this month, though, it is really starting to sound like a good idea to go out and sign someone of the skill set of the two-time NBA Champion Cook.
Much of what the Bulls have lost in the rotation including primary and secondary initiators, floor spacers, guards that can penetrate and kick the ball out, and effective players in transition, can be found by signing someone like Cook. He would be a valuable addition to the team right now, especially with the likes of Coby and Dosunmu out.
Cook would pretty much be the ideal piece for the Bulls to add on a 10-day contract. He’s played on those types of prove-it contracts before and thrived in the process. That’s the type of deal he played on down the stretch last season with the Cavs. He was also on a 10-day contract at the outset of last season with the Lakers.
While Cook is not the type of guard that is going to put up 20-30 points in certain spurts as a volume scorer off the bench, he is one of the more efficient floor spacing guards that the Bulls can find in free agency right now. He’s incredibly quick off-the-dribble, can be a secondary initiator and facilitator, and actually played decent on-ball defense for his size in the last two seasons.
