More free agents the Chicago Bulls could sign for next week: James Ennis III

A free agent that was on the Bulls’ radar later on in the offseason is the former Orlando Magic veteran wing James Ennis III. The 6-foot-6 and 215-pound 31-year-old small forward was one of the better sharpshooters on the wing in the Eastern Conference last season. He shot north of 43 percent from beyond the arc last season.

What the hypothetical signing of Ennis could really do for the Bulls during this stretch where the bench is so shortened is create some space and provide another source of scoring while the team is clearly lacking them in bunches right now. Even at full strength, the Bulls aren’t a great three-point shooting team. They make up for that in other ways, but Ennis could definitely help them out in this regard.

When executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley were starting to round out the roster during Training Camp and the preseason, Ennis looked to be a consideration to add to the mix. But Ennis is still available in free agency. This is something that the Bulls can take advantage of now.

Even when the Bulls start to get some of this depth back in the mix, it would help to have a veteran like Ennis that is a versatile fit that can play minutes anywhere between the two and the four. Ennis is one of the more obvious immediate impact free agents that a team that is in need, like the Bulls right now, could bring in to help out right away.
