Alex Caruso gets ‘thumbs up’ for Bulls vs. Heat
Some very much-needed good news could be around the corner for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls ahead of a key meeting with the Miami Heat on the road on Dec. 11. Donovan and the Bulls are missing roughly half of their team (if not more) ahead of this meeting with the Heat.
And it doesn’t look like things will let up very soon amid the host of Bulls players in the league’s health and safety protocol largely due to COVID-19 cases. But one Bulls player that could be back for the meeting with the Heat on Dec. 11 for Donovan and his staff is the former Los Angeles Lakers defensive standout point guard Alex Caruso.
Caruso missed the last two games for the Bulls dealing with a hamstring injury. He last played for the Bulls in a big four-point road win over superstar forward Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets last weekend.
The Bulls reportedly saw Caruso get the “thumbs up” after the “first stage of ramped up activity to test the injured hamstring”.
Chicago Bulls could get Alex Caruso back against the Heat
There are still steps that Caruso has to make it through before he can return against the Heat on Dec. 11. But this is good news for the Bulls even considering that there’s a chance that Caruso will be back heading into the weekend.
The Bulls now have five players missing due to COVID-19, including the likes of star shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan, point guard Coby White, and shooting guard/forward Javonte Green. Caruso was one of the few Bulls players that were missing in the rotation, not due to the league’s health and safety protocol.
Moreover, the two games that Caruso did miss for the Bulls resulted in a big win over the Denver Nuggets and a double-digit loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. The Bulls definitely need Caruso back as soon as possible.
Donovan and the Bulls carry a record of 17-9 into this meeting with the Heat on Dec. 11. To prevent a two-game losing streak, the likes of star shooting guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic could really use Caruso back in the mix this weekend.
