Chicago Bulls trades with the Pacers for Myles Turner: Mortgage more of the future

This idea is definitely the one on the list that would be the riskiest for the Bulls in terms of the future prospects of the organization. Trading someone like second-year former Florida State Seminoles forward Patrick Williams would be a massive risk for the Bulls to take on, especially after how the front office showed so much faith to pick him fourth-overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.

But the Bulls are in a position to win now at this moment, and dealing out the young and potent duo of Coby and P-Will for someone like Turner could help them reach title contender status even quicker.

And the fact of the matter is that Turner could still have a lot of really good years of basketball ahead of him, and the Bulls could take full advantage of that. Getting Turner likely would mean that the Bulls hope to get him to contribute to this team for a long time.

Now, I’ve talked about the one major risk and the one major reward that the Bulls have if they dish out Williams and White for Turner. There is one potential problem here too. Donovan has played a lot of small-ball lineups for the Bulls this season. Adding Turner and dishing out Williams and White could move away from that permanently.

The Bulls would almost entirely spend 48 minutes each game with either Turner or Vucevic on the floor. And with the way that both can space the floor, I don’t believe that’s the worst thing. But it would definitely mess with some of the chemistry that the Bulls have going at the outset of this season.

This is just a pitch of an idea that is worth considering, but one with obvious risks involved.
