As the Chicago Bulls are looking for their third straight win as they return home to the friendly confines of the United Center on the night of Dec. 6, second-year head coach Billy Donovan will have some hurdles his squad is facing. Donovan and the Bulls are set to battle the Denver Nuggets at home on the night of Dec. 6, this time with superstar big man and reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

This is not the most important game of the December slate for the Bulls in taking on a cross-conference foe at home. But this could be a big win for the Bulls to keep pace with the likes of the surging Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings if they can top the Nuggets on this night.

In fact, the Bulls are coming off a big win over the Nets on the road on Dec. 4, which came by a slim four-point margin. This win over the Nets was the second in two tries this season for the Bulls. And it moved their record on the season heading into this meeting with the Nuggets to 16-8, good for second-best in the East.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets are coming off a win of their own, which came over the New York Knicks on Dec. 4 on the road at Madison Square Garden by the final score of 113-99. That means both the Bulls and Nuggets have wins over the Knicks at MSG in the last couple of games.

That win over the Knicks gave the Nuggets a record of 11-11 heading into this meeting with the Bulls.

Here’s a look at the betting odds and game prediction as the Bulls get set to take on the Nuggets at home at the United Center on Dec. 6, with tip-off time set for 7 p.m. CT.

Chicago Bulls vs. Denver Nuggets betting odds

According to WynnBet, the Bulls are around a three-point favorite just a few hours ahead of tip-off against the Nuggets on Dec. 6. And the over/under is set at 217.5 points.

The ESPN matchup predictor gives the Bulls a 56.6 percent chance to beat the Nuggets in this game.

Moreover, the Bulls hold a home record of 7-4 on the season so far. The Nuggets are 4-7 on the road.

The Bulls are 16-8 against the spread this season while the Nuggets are 9-13.

Chicago Bulls vs. Denver Nuggets prediction

There are two key points of note for the Bulls as they get set to take on the Nuggets at home on Dec. 6. The first is that the Bulls could be missing point guard Alex Caruso due to a hamstring injury in this game. Caruso left the game on Dec. 4 against the Nets thanks to this injury, and he is listed as doubtful on Dec. 6.

Missing Caruso would obviously be a tremendous detriment to the Bulls bench. Yet, giving him the rest might make more sense before the Bulls get into a heavier stretch of divisional games.

The Bulls also have star shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan on a hot streak right now. DeRozan was a big reason why the Bulls notched three wins in a row and wins in four of their last five games. He’s registered at least 28 points during this three-game winning streak for the Bulls. And the last time he scored fewer than 20 points was in the Bulls’ disappointing Nov. 24 road loss to the Houston Rockets.

Even if Caruso is missing in this game for the Bulls, if DeRozan is still hot the team should be in a good position. The star trio of DeRozan, shooting guard Zach LaVine, and center Nikola Vucevic have all played pretty well throughout this three-game winning streak. When these three are on, it’s really tough to beat this team.

The Bulls are also set to miss point guard Coby White and shooting guard/forward Javonte Green in this game, who are both out due to the league’s health and safety protocol. Meanwhile, the Nuggets will still be missing key players such as forward Michael Porter Jr., guard Jamal Murray, and big man Bol Bol, among others.

Final score prediction: Bulls-105, Nuggets-103
