Studs from Chicago Bulls’ trying win over the Hornets: DeMar DeRozan

Bulls fans must have a ton of confidence now in clutch situations like this when the four-time All-Star shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan is making shots as he did in this win over the Hornets. DeRozan was a stud for the Bulls throughout much of this game, including one of the true highlights of the team’s season so far on a crazy two-pointer he made with an and-one to follow.

In this win over the Hornets, DeRozan was able to register 28 points for the second game in a row. DeRozan played well for the Bulls in the loss to the Heat over the weekend and in the Nov. 29 win over the Hornets.

Along with his 28 points, DeRozan registered five rebounds, six assists, one steal, no blocks, and no turnovers. And he shot 12-of-20 from the field, 0-of-2 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Despite going 0-of-2 from beyond the arc and getting just five free-throw attempts in this game, it was good to see DeRozan still average around 1.5 points per field goal attempt. That is right around where the Bulls need DeRozan to be producing in terms of shot efficiency for this team to function well as a whole.

All in all, DeRozan was very efficient in this game. He played decent enough on-ball defense and didn’t turn the ball over a single time. Any game the Bulls get a net positive effort out of DeRozan with no turnovers, a box plus/minus above 3.0, and a 136 offensive rating, it is likely going to get a positive result.
