Free agents that could immediately bolster the Chicago Bulls’ bench: Ersan Ilyasova
Potentially the most realistic idea of a free agent signing that could help the Bulls upgrade the bench in the near future on this list is the veteran sharpshooting power forward Ersan Ilyasova. As someone who is likely just waiting for his shot to make an impact with a team that needs him, Ilyasova would potentially just be one call away for the Bulls’ front office.
I mentioned earlier the three-point shooting woes the Bulls are going through at times this season. Ilyasova is a real floor spacer that is capable of adding a lot of versatility to this offense. Very few power forwards in free agency right now are as proven and experienced as a floor-spacing big man as Ilyasova.
Ilyasova last played in the NBA in any actual season with the Utah Jazz during the 2020-21 camping. And he was very efficient coming off the bench for a really good Jazz team last season. he shot roughly 40 percent from beyond the arc and averaged around eight rebounds per 36 minutes. He played well in the role the Jazz needed him to.
What signing Ilyasova could bring to the table for the Bulls is a veteran reserve at the four that can plug the hole left by the injured Williams throughout the regular season. Ilyasova is also a more capable and consistent floor spacer at the four than Williams at this point of his career. He would also bring that valuable veteran voice to the locker room that I’ve mentioned before would be really helpful later on this season.
