This Western Conference road trip was certainly something that looked to challenge second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls out of the gates this season. The very early portion of the regular season slate definitely featured some easier opponents, especially compared to the difficulty of this road trip out West.
Following a nice set of back-to-back double-digit wins over the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers in the last few days, the Bulls are sitting on a record of 10-4. The Bulls have proved to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference early this season. Holding up through the rest of this road trip out West will be key. It still won’t be easy through the rest of the November slate for Donovan and the Bulls.
Who the Chicago Bulls’ front office was wise to avoid in free agency from last offseason?
This improvement that the Bulls have put on display at the outset of the regular season is largely thanks to all of the new additions brought in since the trade deadline last season. Not only did the front office make the right moves to start building out a postseason contender in Chicago, but some of the potential free agent targets they avoided showed their wits too.
Executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley adding the likes of star shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan, point guard Lonzo Ball, point guard Alex Caruso, etc., is really helping this team move in the right direction.
On the counter, which potential free agent signings that the Bulls could’ve realistically made last offseason were smart to avoid?
