Second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls did exactly what they needed to do in a big win over head coach Tyronn Lue and the Los Angeles Clippers on the night of Nov. 14. To round out the weekend, the Bulls downed the Clippers on the road as part of this Western Conference road trip.

In the first leg of back-to-back games in Los Angeles, the Bulls came out of the gates hot and closed out in impressive fashion to down the Clippers by the final score of 100-90. Donovan and the Bulls had another night where they struggled in the second and third quarters, but they overcame the momentum swing this time around.

This game had a much different narrative behind it than the bad road loss to superstar point guard Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 12 in front of a national television audience on ESPN. The Bulls took hold of this game from the very start and only wavered a couple of times.

It was also good to see the Bulls respond from a convincing defeat against a good team out of the West in the wake of the absence of star center Nikola Vucevic due to the league’s health and safety protocol. Donovan switched up the rotation for the Bulls in this win over the Clippers, which was needed after the loss to the Warriors.

Here’s a look into two studs, and one dud, from the Bulls’ nice 10-point win over the Clippers on the road on Nov. 14.
