Chicago Bulls: 3 new signings that are blowing people away
Chicago Bulls’ new signings already blowing people away: Alex Caruso
Among the truly outstanding performances for any reserve Bulls player this season, the former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Alex Caruso definitely just had one that might stand above the rest. In the Bulls win over superstar point guard Luka Doncic and the Mavericks at home on Nov. 10, Caruso had one of the most impressive games of his entire career.
In the win over the Mavs, Caruso tied a career-high and set a team-high with six steals. This was the second game so far this season in which Caruso registered at least five steals in a single outing. He also now has more than five outings this season where he’s come off the bench and registered at least four steals.
That is some insane defensive production for any player, let alone someone coming off the bench.
At the time when the Bulls signed Caruso away from the Lakers, it looked to be a bit pricy considering what they were getting. The Bulls signed Caruso to a four-year deal worth a total of around $37 million. But Caruso is proving that he is worth every bit of this contract, and more, out of the gates this season.
Caruso now leads the NBA in steals per game (2.6), steal percentage (4.7), and is second in total steals (29). His other stats aren’t too shabby either.
He’s averaging just shy of nine points per game, three rebounds, and four assists, coming off the bench this season. And he’s shot nearly at a 50/40/90 clip.
This was a great signing for the Bulls to snag Caruso before the Lakers were able to re-sign him during the offseason.
