Chicago Bulls studs from win over the Mavs: Alex Caruso

I will once again harp on the fact that it is so impressive that the Bulls can beat a team as good as the Mavs by a double-digit margin while Vucevic and the former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Alex Caruso are the two studs. Not to mention the fact that DeRozan is listed as a dud here, and the Bulls still beat a postseason contender.

This is why the Bulls are becoming a postseason contender in the East themselves.

Caruso was maybe the most important piece for the Bulls to get this win over the Mavs. And he came off the bench in this game.

This was nothing short of a masterful two-way performance for Caruso in this game. Despite not getting the start, Donovan did still play Caruso in a team-high 23 minutes off the bench.

In his 23 minutes played in this game, Caruso registered 16 points, two rebounds, one assist, an insane SIX STEALS, and two turnovers. And Caruso shot 6-of-7 from the field, 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.

Caruso played insanely good defense in this game. It was a nearly spotless performance for him on that end of the floor. This now makes it four games during the regular season with at least four steals for Caruso. It is also the second game for him with at least five steals.

So far this season, the Bulls have got some truly insane performance off the bench from the likes of rookie point guard Ayo Dosunmu, small forward Derrick Jones Jr., and Caruso. Each brings their own unique value to the table for the Bulls in the second unit. And this night was Caruso’s to shine in the spotlight off the bench.
