Chicago Bulls dud from win over the Nets: Lonzo Ball

This was yet another tough one to pick on this list of studs and duds for the Bulls following this huge win over the Nets for the seventh win of the regular season. But the inconsistent performance on the night for point guard Lonzo Ball nets him the one dud spot on the list.

On a night where Lonzo didn’t have a very good efficient time shooting from the field or from downtown is what made him an ineffective offensive presence throughout much of the game.

Lonzo also had a minimal impact on this game on offense in general. He did come up with three assists and no turnovers, which is never a bad thing. But we’ve come to expect more from Lonzo than shooting 4-of-12 from the field with just three assists.

What did salvage this outing a bit for Lonzo, in particular, was hitting a key three-pointer late that helped to spark the Bulls’ insane run in the fourth quarter. The Bulls hit more than six three-pointers in the fourth quarter alone. One of the initial makes from downtown did come from Lonzo in the fourth.

Lonzo also registered 11 points, four rebounds, no steals, and no blocks in this game. He also shot 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and didn’t have any attempts from the free-throw line.

There were some decent defensive possessions for Lonzo in this game, but he was inconsistent on that end of the floor against the Nets too.

All in all, was this the worst night from Lonzo?

No.

But in most games, we will get a better version of Lonzo than we did against the Nets on Nov. 8.
