The Chicago Bulls have proved a point in the last two games that this team is a real contender in the Eastern Conference this season. Second-year head coach Billy Donovan saw his team come through with a clutch win in the fourth quarter over the Boston Celtics on the road on Nov. 1 at the TD Garden.

A dominant fourth quarter showing for the Bulls saw them top the Celtics by a score of 39-11 in one of the most impressive runs from any team to close out a game around the NBA so far this season. At one point, the Bulls were down 19 in the second half.

That’s when the star duo of shooting guard Zach LaVine and shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan really came alive. Those two combined for more than 60 points in the 128-114 win for the Bulls over the Celtics.

It’s also worth noting that the Bulls looked great at home in a win over the Utah Jazz back on Oct. 30.

The Bulls owe a lot for these last two wins to the play of the bench too. Donovan’s bench outscored the Celtics 36-22 in this Nov. 1 win. This highlights the effectiveness of the Bulls’ bench throughout much of the regular season thus far.

The bench is much improved compared to last season. And it will continue to play a critical role in the Bulls’ success moving forward during the regular season.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three underrated reserve players for the Bulls who deserve more respect with their play out of the gates this season.
