Studs for the Chicago Bulls in win over the Celtics: DeMar DeRozan

Sometimes Donovan and the Bulls are just going to win the day with their top stars heating up at different points in the game. And that was the case for the Bulls as the star duo of shooting guard Zach LaVine and shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan were hot at different times.

In all fairness, DeRozan never really cooled down in this game.

DeRozan finished up the game with a season and game-high 37 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block, and just one turnover. And he shot a solid 15-of-20 from the field, a stellar 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

He hit some clutch shots in this game and came through when it mattered most yet again. DeRozan was good for the Bulls in the win over the Jazz on Oct. 30. But he had his best game of the season so far in this win over the Celtics.

Between DeRozan and LaVine, they came up with more than 60 points and helped to spark one of the most explosive offensive performances of the early season.

DeRozan was doing it all for the Bulls here too. He even came up with some big defensive plays down the stretch, including one key strip. When DeRozan is giving the Bulls major contributions on both ends of the floor, as he did against the Celtics, the team is going to win more often than not.

The 37 points from DeRozan on this night powered the Bulls to remain one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference standings. This type of play will continue to earn this Bulls team more respect. In the last two games now, DeRozan has combined for 69 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and just two turnovers. He’s on fire.
