Bulls rumors: Who to target in a Coby White trade-Montrezl Harrell

If the Bulls are planning on moving White at some point this season, then targeting another young player in return seems to make the most sense. The Bulls have already invested a lot in veterans that can help this team win now. Adding some players that can have a longer-term impact on the success of the franchise, while also moving the needle now, would be a huge win for the Bulls.

That is why the Bulls should consider adding someone like the former Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers big man Montrezl Harrell if he continues to be available on the trade market this season. Harrell landed with the Washington Wizards as part of a five-team trade back in August. His tenure with the Lakers didn’t last all that long as he attempted to get his first ring with the Clippers crosstown rival.

Harrell is off to a really solid start this season with the Wizards, though. Although he is only a couple of games into the season, if this is a sign of things to come, then it should attract potential suitors like the Bulls to get into trade talks with the Wizards in the not too distant future.

The Bulls could get a legit established sixth man that could also rotate into the starting unit when needed. Harrell could also provide the Bulls with some grit down low that could continue to help this defense perform well.

The Bulls don’t have much depth still in the frontcourt unit this season. I’ve repeatedly stated how much I like the signing of the former Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers power forward Alize Johnson during the offseason. Especially considering the Bulls signed Johnson to essentially a minimum deal, that was great value to get him in the mix.

But Johnson obviously wouldn’t be able to make the same impact for Donovan and the Bulls compared to Harrell.
