The most recent addition to the Training Camp and preseason roster for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls arrived on Oct. 13 in the form of the former UCLA Bruins standout guard Bryce Alford. Adding another sharpshooting that can play more of a combo and/or two-guard role for Donovan and the Bulls heading into the regular season makes sense.

But there are also some other names out there that recently hit waivers, or were remaining on the free agent market anyways, that seemingly made more sense for the Bulls to sign heading into the regular season. Key veteran names still available in free agency could make a big difference deeper down the bench for the Bulls this season.

Within the last week, the Bulls also waived the likes of rookie combo guard Ethan Thompson and center Daniel Oturu. It didn’t take long for the Bulls to waive Oturu after he was added to the camp roster on a non-guaranteed deal just a few weeks ago. But it still looks like the Bulls could keep those two around with the G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls this season.

Who Chicago Bulls could’ve looked at to sign outside of Bryce Alford?

Maybe the front office and/or coaching staff has something similar in mind if Alford shows some flashes in what remains of camp and the preseason this month. All that the Bulls have left in this preseason slate is the finale at home at the United Center on Oct. 15 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three free agents that the Bulls should’ve considered instead of signing Alford this week.
