Chicago Bulls: 3 superstars AK should be eyeing early this season
Superstars the Chicago Bulls should be watching: Damian Lillard
Another potential disgruntled superstar that the Bulls should be watching heading into the regular season is the Portland Trail Blazers six-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard. The trade discussions flying around various media and fan circles during the offseason obviously didn’t amount to anything tangible. But it does prove that the writing is on the wall that the Blazers need to win now in the midst of Lillard’s prime.
It feels like the first standout player for the Blazers to go at some point this season would be sharpshooting guard CJ McCollum. But if the Blazers can’t right the ship in the not-too-distant future, then it could cost them one of their biggest superstars in franchise history.
Dame sounds like he’s fine to stay in Portland for now. But that could quickly change if the Blazers miss out on the postseason for the next year or two, even after changing head coaches from Terry Stotts to Chauncey Billups.
If the Bulls were to land someone like Lillard, with at least some of the current core at hand, it would mean that this team could challenge to become a title contender right away. It would still mean that the Bulls would have to be in a win-now or bust mode, but it would be well worth it to land Lillard from the Blazers.
Maybe the most intriguing fit that the Bulls could find with Lillard in the mix would be with Lonzo, LaVine, and P-Will. It would also open the door for the Bulls to go after other big-name stars that would fit well with some of the best young players on the current roster.
