The undefeated run for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls continued on the night of Oct. 10, in the second win in three games over the divisional foe Cleveland Cavaliers. Donovan and the Bulls held on late in the game on the road on Oct. 10 to stave off the Cavs in a 102-101 win.

This was by far the closest game of the three for the Bulls three games into the four-game preseason slate. The Bulls now have two wins over the Cavs and one over the New Orleans Pelicans three games into the preseason slate. One of the two wins over the Cavs came at home at the United Center, and the one over the Pelicans also came at home.

In this particular win over the Cavs on the night of Oct. 10, the Bulls gave a heavy dose of the starting unit in terms of minutes played. The four players that were in the starting unit in this preseason game that are likely to be there in the regular season each got at least 30 minutes of playing time.

But the bench also came through in a big way for the Bulls in this win. The depth continued to look good for Donovan and the Bulls in this momentum-building preseason slate. Defensively, the Bulls regressed a bit. Yet, the defense was still disruptive for the Bulls. The Cavs just happened to shoot the ball more efficiently from the field in this game compared to the preseason opener back on Oct. 5.

If the Bulls can take some level of this momentum that they’ve built up through the preseason and translate it to the regular season, this could be a fun campaign in Chicago. With that in mind, here’s a look into two studs and one dud for the Bulls from this one-point win over Cleveland on Oct. 10.
