On the night of Oct. 8, we saw something from the Chicago Bulls that wasn’t expected to be a strength of the team. The starting unit and the reserve players have looked tremendous on defense through two games in the preseason thus far.

Through two games in this preseason slate, the Bulls have beat the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans by a combined margin of way over 70 points. The most recent win for the Bulls in the preseason came over the Pelicans, by the final score of 121-85, at home at the United Center on Oct. 8.

Second-year head coach Billy Donovan has to be pleased with what he saw from this Bulls team thus far in the preseason. But it won’t matter all that much until the Bulls begin the regular season slate. It is a good sign, though, that a rotation with so many new faces in it is meshing so well together early on.

Which Chicago Bulls defenders are the most problematic this season?

The Bulls do have two more preseason games on tap to get the rotation figured out ahead of the regular season opener. Next up for the Bulls is a meeting with the Cavaliers on the road in Cleveland on Oct. 10. That will be the first of two more opportunities to also continue to get the defense right before the regular season tips off.

It is important to watch which Bulls players could struggle on defense this season, and what the strong points will be for this team on that end of the floor. With that in mind, here’s a look into three Bulls players bound to struggle mightily on defense this season.
