On the night of Oct. 8, we will see the Chicago Bulls take to the floor for the second time during the preseason slate. The second matchup of the preseason for second-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls is set to come at home at the United Center against the New Orleans Pelicans.

That will get the Bulls one step closer to figuring out what the rotation will look like heading into the regular season. There are still some spots on the rotation that Donovan and his staff must resolve a couple of weeks ahead of the start of the regular season.

It looks like the Bulls have the starting five mostly set heading into the regular season. Once forward Patrick Williams returns from injury, the Bulls can start getting some work together with this starting unit early in the season. The starting five should likely consist of Lonzo Ball at the one, Zach LaVine at the two, some combination of DeMar DeRozan and P-Will at the three and four, and Nikola Vucevic at the five.

Javonte Green and other Chicago Bulls’ reserves that could rise to the occasion

With Williams out in the preseason opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers back on Oct. 5, the Bulls went with shooting guard Javonte Green in the starting unit. If any other starters are set to miss time during the preseason, that could help Donovan and his staff get a better idea of which players can rise to the occasion starting out the season in key reserve roles.

With that in mind, here’s a look at three key Bulls bench players who could break into starting roles at some point this season.
