It’s very easy to overreact to the Chicago Bulls preseason opener win over the division foe Cleveland Cavaliers at home at the United Center on Oct. 5. Second-year head coach Billy Donovan and his short handed Bulls squad took down the Cavs on Oct. 5 by the final score of 131-95. If nothing else, this win in the preseason opener was a lot of fun for Bulls fans.
This team just seems like one that will truly deliver on the entertainment factor in general this season. The Bulls proved in the preseason opener that this team has a lot of excitement to it. And a lot of the defensive doubts were proved wrong in the opener. Granted, I’ll keep saying that we shouldn’t put too much stock into that preseason opener as to what impression fans get for expectations for the regular season.

There are ways that the Bulls can build up momentum throughout the preseason to prove some of the doubters wrong heading into the regular season. But not much will matter in the grand scheme of things until Oct. 20, when Donovan and the Bulls open up the regular season slate on the road against the divisional foe Detroit Pistons.
Nonetheless, what names are worth watching for the Bulls ahead of the start of the regular season that could still show out well in the preseason? A lot of that will hinge on how Donovan pieces the rotations together throughout the rest of the month.
