Best shooters for the Chicago Bulls in 2021-22: Zach LaVine
There’s no question that you have to include the first-time All-Star shooting guard and former UCLA Bruin Zach LaVine on the list of the best Bulls shooters heading into the season. LaVine had the best season of his NBA career during the 2020-21 campaign, where he proved that he is one of the best shooting guards in the Eastern Conference.
Last season, LaVine shot 50.7 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line. That was good for career highs in effective field goal percentage (59.6) and true shooting percentage (63.4). LaVine even ranked in the top 20 in three-point shooting percentage, top 40 in free-throw percentage, and top 30 in true shooting percentage.
LaVine continued to prove that he sits among the NBA’s better corner three-point shooters. He has a career percentage on corner three-point attempts at 45.5. And last season, he hit his looks on corner three-pointers at a clip of 47.8 percent. This makes it three straight seasons where LaVine has shot at least 47.5 percent on corner three-point attempts.
According to Cleaning the Glass, LaVine ranked in the 65th percentile (at a bare minimum) in every single major shooting location in terms of accuracy last season. LaVine was the only players for the Bulls last season that held that type of accuracy in respect to the rest of the league from so many different shooting locations.
