Chicago Bulls preseason trades involving Coby White: Target another guard in Jalen Brunson

Yet another deal for Karnisovas and the Bulls that involves shipping off both Brown and White to a Western Conference foe could make a lot of sense for both this front office and that of the Dallas Mavericks at some point next season. With the Bulls’ front office establishing a mindset with this organization to win now, this type of move with the Mavericks makes a lot of sense.

In this particular trade deal, we have the Bulls shipping off Brown and White once again. This time, the two young Bulls players land with the Mavericks for a return of guard Jalen Brunson and small forward Dorian Finney-Smith.

DFS is the type of wing for the Bulls that could make an immediate impact for this bench. He’s pretty much the definition of a three-and-D wing, and that is something that head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls could really use next season.

And Brunson would be a nice addition for the Bulls’ backcourt unit that could provide a steadier bit of offensive and defensive production than White. While White is more of a microwave scorer that can go off at times more so than Brunson, it might be nice to have more consistency coming off the bench in the backcourt unit.

Brunson alone nearly beat the Bulls last season on a night where he scored 30+ points for the Mavericks. That had to make an impression with the Bulls’ coaching staff and front office.
