Free agents the Chicago Bulls could add after Patrick Williams’ injury: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

The last two names on this list would be two of my favorite hypothetical free agent additions for the Bulls to replace a lot of what Williams brings to the table for the Bulls on each end of the floor. Ennis is a solid floor spacer that could actually be a more efficient shooter from downtown than Williams.

And the former Portland Trail Blazers, Toronto Raptors, and Brooklyn Nets forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson could go a long way to replace a lot of the defensive disruption that Williams brings to the table. The Bulls likely wouldn’t miss a step defensively at the three/four at the outset of next season if there was a forward trio of Hollis-Jefferson, Derrick Jones Jr., and Troy Brown Jr. in this rotation.

Similar to that of Scott, Hollis-Jefferson likely wouldn’t be any sort of long-term solution for the Bulls at the three or the four. The Bulls are already pretty deep with the type of player that Hollis-Jefferson would be in this rotation. But in the absence of Williams, it could be interesting to bring in the type of interior scorer and defender that Hollis-Jefferson is.

One of the best defensive ratings that Hollis-Jefferson has in his career against any one opposition came against the Pistons, who the Bulls face twice in the first month of the regular season. And if you go all the way back to the 2017-18 season, two of the players that Hollis-Jefferson defended the most effectively were Pistons’ star forward Jerami Grant and fellow star forward Brandon Ingram.

Who are two of the best forwards that the Bulls play in the first week of the regular season? Ingram and Grant.
