Heading into next season, head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls have a bolstered roster that looks well ready to contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. If the Bulls are able to make it to the postseason next season, it would break a four-year-long playoff drought.
The last time that the Bulls made it to the playoffs was under the direction of former head coach Fred Hoiberg to cap the 2016-17 season. But this Bulls’ team looks better than the one in Chicago the last time this team made it to the postseason.
Chicago Bulls have some unique trade target potentially to look at from the Knicks next season
Moreover, the Bulls aren’t the only team in the East that has made a fast rise of late. Now, the Bulls haven’t proved themselves on the floor yet, but it’s well within reach for them to compete around the same spot in the standings in the East with the longtime conference rival New York Knicks.
Last season, former Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, point guard Derrick Rose, and the Knicks were one of the surprise teams out of the East. The Knicks rose up fast in the standings to claim the four seed in the postseason in the East.
It will be a big challenge for Donovan and the Bulls to get in the top four in the East next season, but this roster does make that at least possible. The Bulls landed the likes of star center Nikola Vucevic, shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan, point guard Lonzo Ball, etc., just since the trade deadline last season.
But if the Bulls want to continue the upward ascent up the standings in the East, it might take hitting the trade market pre-deadline next season to bolster the roster even further. With that in mind, here’s a look into three Knicks players that could be trade targets for the Bulls next season to watch.
