Potential trade targets for the Chicago Bulls to pursue for Zach LaVine: Bradley Beal

I already mentioned the fact that LaVine and Beal both can’t stay out of trade discussions this offseason. Those two are common favorites of hypothetical trade proposals during down points of the offseason and the regular season. But in a world where they are both somehow on the trade market at the same time next season, a player swap might make sense here.

Beal would be a similar fit for head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls obviously compared to LaVine. Both are offensively gifted veteran shooting guards with at least one All-Star appearance each way. And LaVine and Beal are both high-usage players that score a lot and are tough-shot makers. But each also has their fair share of problems on defense.

Now, here are the main differences between LaVine and Beal. LaVine is a good rebounder, and Beal doesn’t have much of a presence on the glass. And Beal is a more effective distributor of the basketball on a consistent basis compared to LaVine.

What LaVine has done better lately than Beal is shooting from the field and from beyond the arc.

A real decisive reason that the Bulls might consider going after Beal in a swap for LaVine is just the fact that both players might want a change of scenery at that point of the season. If LaVine just wants to pick up and go elsewhere by the time the trade deadline arrives, then swapping him for Beal would make sense.

How could LaVine and the Bulls get to a point where he just flat out wants to leave Chicago by the trade deadline you might ask?

That would likely be due to a lack of willingness from the front office to commit to LaVine over the long term.
