Chicago Bulls: 3 favorite Toni Kukoc teammates ever
Toni Kukoc’s favorite teammates with the Chicago Bulls: Michael Jordan
Although Kukoc tabbed Pippen as a key piece for the Bulls’ title teams when he was in the mix in the mid-to-late 1990s, all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan was still the most noted part of this quad of players. Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc, and Rodman, helped to win three titles in a row. And while Jordan was likely tougher on Kukoc than anyone, these two grew closer.
We got to see throughout the 10-part hit documentary series highlighting the Bulls 1997-98 title-winning team “The Last Dance” about the journey that Jordan and Kukoc took as teammates. The Bulls became a real unit as the mid-1990s turned into the late 1990s.
And by the time Jordan left ahead of the start of the 1998-99 season, Kukoc became an All-Star caliber player in the NBA. During the 1998-99 season, Kukoc averaged around 19 points per game, seven rebounds, five assists, one steal, and 0.5 blocks.
Jordan and Pippen first faced Kukoc in the 1992 Summer Olympics with the “Dream Team” in Barcelona, Spain. Team USA obviously glided past Kukoc and Croatia to win the Gold Medal in Barcelona in the 1992 Summer Olympics.
But that first meeting between Jordan and Pippen with the United States and Kukoc and Croatia obviously had a lasting impact on this trio of Hall-of-Famers.
Jordan was able to help Kukoc reach new heights, especially in the postseason. But there is also the argument that Kukoc never got an All-Star nod because of all of the talented players he played with, including the likes of Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman, that got some touches he would’ve got otherwise on offense.
Nonetheless, all of the players on this list, including Kukoc, helped to build these legendary dynasty teams for the Bulls in the 1990s.
