Toni Kukoc’s favorite teammates with the Chicago Bulls: Steve Kerr

There are plenty of options to go with for who could be the third favorite teammate with the Bulls ever for Kukoc. A lot of former teammates of his with the Bulls in the 1990s have spoken very highly of him upon his induction to the Hall-of-Fame. That includes the likes of big man Bill Wennington, point guard BJ Armstrong, and forward Dennis Rodman, among others.

Kukoc seemed like a very likable teammate, and he made a lot of valuable contributions to all of those Bulls title teams of the 1990s during the dynasty years.

Yet, one name that is hard to look beyond in this conversation is the Golden State Warriors head coach and former Bulls sharpshooting guard Steve Kerr. As one of the better three-point shooters in NBA history, Kerr definitely made a big impact for the Bulls. And Kerr was there along with Kukoc for each one of the three titles after MJ’s first retirement from his playing days in the NBA.

These two were teammates for each of Kukoc’s first five seasons in the NBA, all of which he played for the Bulls. And a piece from Sportscasting recently recounted when Kerr gave more credit to Kukoc compared to any other Bulls players following the 1998 NBA Finals. That was the third title win in a row for the Bulls.

And Kerr throwing credit Kukoc’s way for what he went through with some of the legends on this team in 1997-98 just goes to show how much respect they had for each other.

Kerr was reportedly (per a piece from NBC Sports Chicago back in May 2021) “thrilled” about the news of the Hall-of-Fame induction in the 2021 class for Kukoc. These two were great teammates that were key pieces in the supporting cast for the Bulls to win the latter of three titles for the franchise in the 1990s.
