At this point of the offseason, free agency is mostly an afterthought for the Chicago Bulls. That is especially true considering the fact that executive vice president of basketball Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley were so busy in free agency already this month to help round out the roster heading into Training Camp.
Just a few of the signings that the Bulls made official in the last couple of weeks included small forward Stanley Johnson, power forward Alize Johnson, forward Tyler Cook, and shooting guard Matt Thomas. It will be interesting to see how the roster plays out in Training Camp for the Bulls.
There could be a lot on the line with all of the new signings that the Bulls made since the start of last month. It’s not just the signings from the past couple of weeks that will have a key spotlight on them on this Bulls’ roster in Training Camp and the preseason.
Chicago Bulls could add more numbers to positions of need ahead of Training Camp
Bigger signings from August like point guard Lonzo Ball, star shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan, guard Alex Caruso, etc., will have a bright spotlight on them too.
And it’s not likely that the Bulls are done quite yet in this cycle of free agency. There is still one two-way contract slot open, which could be filled by someone like Thomas or Cook. Or, Karnisovas and the Bulls could look elsewhere to fill any remaining roster spots they want to ahead of the start of the preseason, and to fill the last remaining two-way contract slot.
With that in mind, here’s a look into three hidden gem free agents still available on the open market that really no one is talking about.
