Other free agents Bulls rumors should focus on instead of James Ennis: Avery Bradley
One veteran option that I would really like for the Bulls to add that would likely make the roster heading into next season is the former Miami Heat and Houston Rockets defensive standout guard Avery Bradley. Given some of the solid two-way production that Bradley put up in the regular season and playoffs in recent years (dating back to his time with the Lakers), it’s a surprise that no one picked him up as of yet.
There will be a role out there somewhere for Bradley at some point next season. Teams are passing on him in droves it seems right now, but that should change before too long.
What Bradley could bring for the Bulls, in particular, is a veteran guard presence that they don’t have in the locker room following the departure of the veteran shooting guard Garrett Temple in the sign-and-trade deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. Bradley could be another solid defensive guard, but a more reliable option for Donovan off the bench than young point guards Devon Dotson and Ayo Dosunmu.
Statistically, Bradley isn’t the most impressive guard by any means. He is usually a good shooter from deep, and disruptive in his on-ball perimeter defending. But those are usually his biggest strengths, along with good court vision on both ends of the floor. The veteran presence that is unique that he could bring to the table for the Bulls along with the reliable defensive production would be his main appeal to the front office.
